About
The purpose of the Computer Science Community (CSC) is to serve as a community for learning, support, friendship, social activity, and mentorship for students interested in Computer Science at the Rochester Institute of Technology.
Generally, we have normal meetings every Tuesday at Noon in the Computer Science Student Center (70-3660). We also occassionally coordinate special meetings involving companies and special guests. Look to our main page for event list but some of our fun events we do a lot are rock climbing, games nights and bowling. Please come by and see us!
Dave Larsen
Dave is a fourth year Computer Science student with interests in theoretical, parallel and networked computing. He spends most of his day in the mentoring center, so you should drop by and say hi!
Nick Borden
Nick is a second year computer science student with interests in machine learning, granular synthesis, dinosaurs, and strange noises. He likes talking to people about things. If you are a person looking to talk about things, feel free to talk to Nick about those things.
Sol Boucher
Sol is a first year computer science student who enjoys British comedy, strategy games, and biology. He doesn't know much about these things, but he'd like to. He may be found at many of the CSC events, and can be recognized by his funny-looking hair.
Mike Lyman
Mike is a third year computer science student. He is interested in software development and also in video game development. He is often around the CS tutor center or someplace in GCCIS, so feel free to introduce yourself and say hi!
Matthew Koontz
Matt v.2.0 doesn't have anything in particular to say about himself, so it may be a good idea to question him in person. He tutors in the CS Student Center on a weekly basis, and may be found at most CSC events. If he has a natural habitat besides his machine, it is likely playing Mage Knight at one of the CSC board game nights.
Matt Robinson-Liu
Matt is a 2nd year computer science major who is probably shorter than you. He is passionate about video games and CS but also likes anything delicious (sweet) and cute things. Just about the only thing Matt enjoys more than old memes is unnecessary complexity in games. Matt can probably be found at any of the CSC's fun events.
Walter Litwinczyk
Walter Litwinczyk is a fourth year Computer Science major. He enjoys computer graphics and you can usually find him in the CS student center helping people.
Joe Viola
Joe is a third year Computer Science and Entrepreneurship major. He is interested in the business and management aspect of the technology world and is passionate about startups. He is always excited to meet new people and chat, or play a board game or two. He travels for and plays Magic the Gathering way too much, and is always down to play a game!
